EventRentalCosts.com is an independent comparison site for party and event equipment rental pricing across 15 US metro areas — currently Charlotte, NC, Raleigh–Durham, NC, Indianapolis, IN, Columbus, OH, Greensboro & Winston-Salem, NC, Richmond, VA, Jacksonville, FL, Greenville, SC, Charleston, SC, Knoxville, TN, Asheville, NC, Savannah, GA, Chattanooga, TN, Columbia, SC, Wilmington, NC. We are not affiliated with, and don't receive payment from, any company listed here as of this writing.

How we find companies

We identify real party, tent, table, and chair rental businesses using Google Maps data — name, address, phone, rating, and review count. We manually filter out businesses that Google's broad category matching pulls in by accident (venues, DJs, caterers, retail stores) and only include businesses actually in the equipment rental business.

How we collect pricing

For each business, we scrape their own website directly — never a third-party directory or marketplace — looking for a real, published dollar figure. We do not estimate, average, or guess at pricing. The bar is high on purpose: of the roughly 1,057 rental-category businesses we've checked across our metro areas, only 154 publish real, verifiable pricing on their own websites — and those are the only ones listed here. The rest require a phone call or quote request, so we don't list pricing for them (we'd rather list nothing than a fabricated number). Every extracted price is also automatically re-checked against the exact sentence it came from before it's published.

What "not published" means

For details like delivery availability, setup service, or weekend surcharges, we only mark "Yes" or "No" when a business explicitly states it on their website. If a business doesn't mention something at all, we mark it "Not published" — we never assume a missing detail means "no." That distinction matters: silence isn't the same as a real answer.

How current is this data?

Each listing shows the date its pricing was last checked. Rental pricing can change, especially seasonally, so always confirm current pricing directly with the business before booking.

How this site makes money

We plan to earn through referral relationships with listed businesses and, once traffic justifies it, display advertising. As of this writing we have no paid placements — company order in comparison tables is based on price, not payment.
